Savouring Romance

Here's news! Have baby- no romance. It just a equilibrium that occurs in human relationships. Honest. And here's more news, when parents try to romance it up a notch, baby decides to do a poo, or cry- you choose.

Ok, so its nothing new. But it does take a whole lot more effort than before.

Since Jellybean is officially superglued to me, I needed to spice things up- fast, nearly instant. So I got this card from kikki-k that basically doesn't writing. It's uber fast I tell ya, just stick stickers! So fun too!

Yeah, I know, I've gone for the fast and easy way out. What card making?! But hey, I did something.

Dear Jellybean-February 2011

Hey bub, we need to have a heart to heart. You and me, we do good. But this whole superglue thing has to stop. Mummy loves you lots and get heartwarming moments when you cling to me like a koala. But, you remain as a koala for like..forever.

See, doctors, midwives and all told me you are going through a growth spurt. Hence, you feed like a newborn and get so demanding. You've learnt to scream too! But you reckon your growth spurt can be a bit more timid? Is that a bit too much to ask?

You've got chubby cheeks now! Far from what you looked like in the beginning. Your toothless smile is kinda cute too! Sometimes you get really annoyed when I try to wake you up and have the funniest expressions! Oops!

When you got your 8 week injection, girl you yelled [after a delayed reaction]. You then got all drowsy, sleepy and had a mild fever. Felt so sorry for you, so you slept in the big bed with daddy and mummy. Big mistake! Now it's just ongoing. Hmm...we gotta trick you out of it.

Lunar Feast

My mum cooked up a storm for Chinese New Year! Geeze, I've been missing this for years! Can you believe she whipped up a whole table of yumminess for 12 people?!

Lou Sang- gimme lots of fresh salmon!

Her infamous Hakka Braised Yam & Pork 'Yu Tou Kou Rou'

Steamed Saltwater fish

Snow Crabs! Oysters!

Authentic Shark Fin soup. ..Sorry, think all the fins sank by the time I took the pic.

Lo Han Jai- lurve the mix up!

Vegetarian Noodles.

Every year, my dad will dictate a menu [basically of his favourite foods!] and mum would willingly oblige..and we ofcourse, willingly eat!

Gong Xi Gong Xi!

If only I'm as good as her...

Here Bunny Bunny!

Happy Bunny Year! I..ok, I'm a tad late but better than never! Can't believe another year just passed like that!

Last year, I just moved into my new house and got uber excited about making all the nic-nacks. This year, my hours seem to be gobbled up by Jellybean and even squeezing the odd two hours for baking is a luxury.

I do miss my house heaps though..I wish I still have my kitchen to mess with and my courtyard to stare into. I would of most probably dolled up a nursery for Jellybean by now and maybe, just maybe, bought a tonne of nursery furniture and scared the heck out of H with a amazing credit card statement!

So this year I only got up to three things- once again, the Cheese-Pineapple Agar Agar I made last year, lychee jelly..

..and a house favourite, Kueh Momo which I made with this recipe. I'm thinking of adding milk powder to it next time just to give it a extra oomph!

Now...let's feast for tomorrow- the 15th and last day of Chinese New Year!
